Textured Mandrel for TEVG Closed Cell Seeding Device

This invention is an improved mandrel design that solves an issue encountered during the removal of seeded tissue‑engineered vascular grafts, where the adhesive force between the seeded scaffold and a smooth mandrel surface can be so strong that removal becomes difficult and may damage the scaffold. Unlike the existing mandrel, the new design incorporates longitudinal grooves and continuous ridges running parallel to the axis of removal. These structural features reduce the contact area between the scaffold and mandrel, lowering the friction and adhesive force. As a result, the improved mandrel allows the seeded scaffold to be removed with significantly less force, reducing the risk of scaffold damage and improving the reliability of the graft‑generation process.
