Development of New Software to Recognize Novel Patterns of Swallowing in Infants Undergoing Testing for GERD

This new testing process, with both clinical and research applications, has been developed to characterize biomarkers of swallowing rhythms, patterns, and oral feeding abilities in the evaluation of GERD (gastro-esophageal reflux disease). This method of testing expands upon pH-Impedance testing (pH-IMP), the standard for evaluating GERD, utility without adding additional strain on patients at the point-of-care by developing characterization of swallowing patterns using software during feeding sessions and lead to new therapies to be examined.
