The Superbaby Project

Preterm birth is the leading cause of mortality and morbidity in young children with over a million deaths per year worldwide arising from Neonatal Complications (NC). Research scientists at Nationwide Children’s have developed a scoring grid that can be used for the early detection of NC in premature infants. Infant-specific risk knowledge which can be derived from this invention could help design individualized treatment for each preterm infant; thus, reduce hospitalization cost.
