Current IV clamps on the market are based on the roller clamp’s position: on or off. The model lacks any other identifying factors indicating its position. Researchers at Nationwide Children’s Hospital conceptualized an improved model of the IV-line clamp. The novel model would have prominent visual cues like words, colors, labels, and symbols to represent whether the clamp is open or close. With these added cues, clinicians are able to prevent delays in treatment and patient harm.
